Three years after successfully  launching Issue 1 of Edge of Extinction we are Live on Kickstarter attempting to fund Issue 2. The last three years have been a roller-coaster ride in lots of respects and a lot of people have been incredibly supportive of our attempts to create a comic-book that is a little different to everything else out there in today's overcrowded market.

So firstly thank-you for your support and patience

If you have already had a look at our Kickstarter campaign or donated then thank-you for helping us to achieve this dream. It is deeply appreciated by us all in the team here.

For those of you joining us on our journey. Please note that we do have limited stock of issue 1 that you can order directly from us on the website.

Issue 2 is completed. We just need your support to publish the book, funds raised covering the costs of producing the art, covers and printing and of course posting the books out to you.

I am incredibly proud of Issue 2. Paul Peart-Smith is producing the best art of his career, (Just wait until you see his Kick-starter exclusive A3 print) and the covers by Stephen Sampson, David Millgate and Ryan Brown are also world class.

So thank-you for joining us at the end of the world.

]]>Sun, 04 Nov 2012 21:59:37 GMThttp://edgeofextinction.weebly.com/blog/welcome-to-edge-of-extinctionWelcome to the Edge of Extinction website.
Edge of Extinction is a zombie comic created by myself, Baden James Mellonie and Paul Peart-Smith. It all started back in 2009, when i was asked by Berserker Comics to come up with a concept to tie into the Alan Grant and Simon Bisley comic, The Dead :Kingdom of Flies. Andy and Ryan Brown wanted me to develop the concept further and I approached Paul Peart-Smith, the 2000AD artist in the hope that he would come onboard. Paul agreed and Edge of Extinction was born.

Edge of Extinction is a zombie horror story. The difference being that, like The Dead: Kingdom of Flies, it is set in England. American zombie comics and film have always relied on the right to bear arms to support the characters fight for survival. I wanted to take that away. I wanted to strip the fight for survival back to it's origins. Humanity at it's most primitve.

After Berserker Comics ceased publishing new titles, Paul and myself have taken Edge of Extinction to a variety of publishers, and found ourselves frustrated at the industry's inability to offer a deal to suit our needs. The first four issues are written, we have finished pages of art and and a host of talent have contributed pin-ups to the book. So we are going to publish it ourselves, using Kickstarter and donations from you, friends, family and fans.

Cheers for your support
Baden James Mellonie
